We are a research lab located at Lawson Health Research Institute and affiliated with Western University. We are located in London, Ontario, Canada.
Our research focuses on developing quantitative imaging methods for studying brain function under normal and disease conditions and covers multiple modalities (optics, magnetic resonance imaging, and positron emission tomography). We have translated inhouse-developed technologies to clinical applications including portable optical devices for neuromonitoring in the intensive care unit and surgical suites. We have also developed hybrid PET/MRI technologies that overcome the complexities of PET methods for imaging brain perfusion and energy consumption. These technologies are currently being used to study the impact of cerebrovascular disease on brain metabolism and the possible role of energy dysfunction on the development of neurodegeneration.
